How do I make blog private for only those I choose
The information in the forum shows how to make blog private but what i see on my screen isn’t the same as what is shown in the “examples”. Do I need to upgrade my account to be able to control privacy? Or how do I make it so individuals must be “invited” to see my blog?
The blog I need help with is aoctrack.wordpress.com.
There is no upgrade required. This blog is a public blog http://aoctrack.wordpress.com/
To change the setting to private go to > Settings > Reading and follow this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
If you’d like to invite others to publish posts or help approve comments on your blog, you can invite them to be a Contributor, Editor, or Author.
Invite People to View Your Private Blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-view-your-private-blog
Note: There is no maximum number of users for private blogs. As a spammer prevention there is a 10 invitations limit at any point in time. Send out 10 and wait and then send out 10 more.
That’s the problem I don’t have “reading” as an option under settings
You must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered any blog and who is the Admin of the blog to access it.
Dashboard > Settings > Reading
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility
If you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery.
