How do I change the background color of my home page

Add topic to favorites
When I go to customize the color of my blog, I’m presented with the following choices:

Background (which is not the background “behind” all the text)
Site Description
Links
Logo
Main Menu

But there’s no option for changing the color of the text or the background. Currently I have white lettering on a black (or nearly black) background. How do i change these colors?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi mbmast2013,

Please go to your blog’s Dashboard. Under Appearance > Background, you will see this option:

Click on “select color” and that will open up a box where you can choose the color you wish to use.
