How can I fix this

  • My blog is for a class. I have it password protected because it is specifically for this class. I copied and pasted a post into an email and sent it to a friend. I did not notice that the links for editing, etc. were in the email. If I look at the “sent” email, it appears that my friend will be able to see all my previous posts and even edit the blog at will because of the links in the email. I’ve changed my username and password, but it does not appear to have resolved the problem. Is there any way to resolve this without completely deleting the blog and starting over? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • The blog is private, not password protected.
If your friend doesn’t have your login password, s/he cannot access your dashboard.

  • Thanks, yes private. Unfortunately, in a hasty copy and paste of the post into an email, I copied and pasted the links at the top. So if I go into the sent email and click on the title of the post, which came across as a link, it takes me right into the actual blog, and there is an edit button at the top … just like there would be for me, as well as the ability to see all previous posts. I only intended the friend to receive one specific post. Will they be able to continue to see future posts? Thanks for the help … I’m obviously new to blogging.

  • No need to worry: it takes you to your dashboard because it’s you while logged in. It won’t take anyone else unless they have the password to your WP account. If I had received this mail and clicked on those links, it would take me to my dashboard.

  • If you were logged into wordpress when you clicked the link, then of course you would be able to see it. Log out of wordpress and then click the link and you should be directed to the login screen.

  • Panos, I’m leaving everything in your capable hands and shutting down and going to bed. It’s nearly 1am here in the middle of the Pacific.
