Google Ranking
-
Hello, we are currently using a different web server for our website, seaportre.com, and we wanted to make sure before switching that we won’t lose our rankings in Google if we switched to WordPress. We also wanted to know where the location of your server is, the reloading speed, and the uptime if the website is down. Thank you so much!

Hi –
That’s a great question. Our servers are located around the world, and we have very rare and very little down time. That can be verified by asking around the community.
The host shouldn’t affect your SEO if the site content and domain remain the same as before. If your host was really slow, you may have issues, but that won’t be the case here.
Since you’re moving a domain I wanted to point out the 2 options to do that:
1. map it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
2. transfer it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/You’re going to need a plan on the account before you can connect the domain. Those are listed at https://wordpress.com/pricing/ The plans include your domain credit and hosting (no extra fee for that).
Last thing, these guides are going to help you get started and familiar with the platform.
