Google Optimize

  • Are we able to use “Google Optimize” on a wordpress.com site? I don’t know much about it.

  • Hi there,

I’m afraid I have no idea.

From what I’m reading about that tool on Google’s website at https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/optimize/, that works via Google Analytics, and lets you create variations of your website to test different versions of your website to see which work best, by tracking and A/B testing the way visitors interact with the different versions.

I do know nothing you do in that tool will change anything actually on your site on WordPress.com, so I’m not sure exactly how that would work.

I did some searching internally, and couldn’t find any mention of other sites on WordPress.com using it (or rather, the owners of those sites asking for help using it), so I’m afraid I don’t have any more information on this.

Perhaps try contacting support at Google Analytics directly for details on exactly how this works on their end. If all it needs is that Google Analytics is enabled on your site, then you should be able to use it on your Premium Plan site. But if it needs access to the site via SSH or an API, you’ll likely need a Google Analytics plugin on our Business Plan to use it.
