Getting back a Web site I used to have

    Hi. I used to have a Web site that I deleted in August 2017. I was wondering whether I could still get it back somehow, if that’s still possible. Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thats a very good question! Before I can answer that I would need to know if you backed up your website prior to deleting it?

    With a proper backup of your WordPress database and files, you can quickly restore things back to normal if you were to decide to start back up again.

    If you didnt run a back up on your site the chances of it still being their are very small.

    For further questions I’d reccomemed contacting one of the happeniess engineers who should be able to further technically help you if it is possible.

    Hello there, WordPressdotcom websites that are deleted by their owner can be recovered up to 30 days after their deletion. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#reverse-a-site-deletion Anything older that that cannot be recovered and the previous site address cannot be restored. So if you deleted your WordPressdotcom site in 2017, unfortunately, it would not be possible at this point for Staff to recover either the site contents nor the site address.

    However, if you downloaded an export of your deleted WordPressdotcom site prior to deleting it, you can create a new site as @nelsonortiz17 mentioned and then import your exported XML file. Unfortunately, it won’t be able to pull in the media files since you deleted the old site.

    If you didn’t export your site prior to deletion, you may still find some posts and pages either in Google’s cache of your site or on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

    I’m just chiming in to confirm, that a site deleted more than 30 days from now is not eligible for restoration.
