Getting access to my site
-
I have lost access to the site above. The recovery option for a lost everything asks for 3 forms of ownership verification. Fair enough, but that all dissolved in a crash since 2018 (last time something was posted)
I can, I believe, prove ownership, in that I have the originals of the copyright material on the site. If I am not the owner of the site, I am certainly the owner of the copyright material, so it must be deleted by WordPress as being in breach of copyright.
Or – just allow access. How do I resolve this apparent impasse, in the absence of an actual chatline to an operator?
Self-declared URL: https://wordsinpublics
Jetpack: Unknown
WP.com: Unknown -
I couldn’t publish the actual Url, as the validation recognised that I’m posting about a site which this (new) user profile doesn’t own – the very problem I came to resolve.
if you want to see it – just take off the final s to make wordsinpublic
– This is a problem for WordPress.comm rather than a forum I expect, as it will take a tech to either delete the site or generate some form of email regarding it.
But anyone with ideas – thanks -
Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

That site is connected to another account of yours wpinpublic. Log out from current and log in with the username wpinpublic. If you can’t remember the password, just click on ‘Lost Paswword’ and enter the username wpinpublic.

Hello there,
This site is not connected to this account.
If this was created with another account, do you have access to that email account connected to the WordPress.com account that controls this site?
Please note, these are required methods of account ownership verification: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
Many thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for this. Perhaps I didn’t explain enough at the start.
I have taken the various recovery options, but no emails have appeared. It is possible that I set up the site using (email visible only to moderators and staff), but sadly, the name was prophetic, and the account was eventually being deluged with spam and I deleted it. It no longer exists. I can’t find any documentation other than the password attached to wpinpublic user name. My Mac was happily logging in using its remembered details for a while,
I created this account in order to access wordpress.com and make this enquiry. As I said earlier, I appreciate your protocols for confirming ownership, but as I have none of the ‘proofs’ requested, the user interface refuses any further correspondence.
If you have no means to re-connect me, then I’ll request that you take down the copyright material (which is all of the content) as it is breaching my copyright, and I can then re-create the site, with some documented details for potential future use.
Does that explain any better?
Thanks for your time

As I already stated in my previous reply, let’s try the easy way: Log out from current andrea1997a and log in again with the username wpinpublic. If you can’t remember the password, just click on ‘Lost Paswword’ and enter the username wpinpublic. Check all your email addresses, also the spam folder, for the reset link.

Hi, if what @staartmees mentioned above doesn’t work for you, please send an email to
passwordhelp@wordpress.com
.
If you do not have any of the proofs of ownership we mentioned in https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery, we won’t be able to help you regain access to the account, but there may be an alternative that works out for you.
Thanks! -

Thanks for confirming. I can see that we have repied to your email.
Because we are not able to help further here in public I will close this thread to avoid any confusion, but if you need a hand please continue to reply to the private conversation we’ve started with you via email.
Thanks!
