Gallery type theme like the one listed here…

    Okay, im just gonna get straight to the point.. :)

    Does anyone know where i can get this theme (preferably free) or something like it.

    The theme i want is at http://eveek.com

    Basically i want a theme where the homepage shows thumbnails of the pictures (featured image or something) and the user has to click on it for the full post or the download link provided next to the image. The theme also needs a search and categories function.

    evweek is a self-hosted wordpress site and from the looks of things that is their own custom built theme.

    We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM, we are limited to the themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

    What you want would have to be done manually. You would create a static front page and then use a table for the image thumbnails and then each time you added a new post, you would have to add a row to the top of the table or edit the table and move everything down so you had a blank spot for the new thumbnail at the top.

    WordPress.COM probably isn’t for you. You are probably going to have to self-host a blog on a web host such as dream host or godaddy, etc. Figure a total monthly cost including hosting and domain registration costs of about $10 to $25 per month. The other thing to remember is that you will be responsible for everything. All installations, all upgrades, all backups, all troubleshooting. If something goes wrong, or you install something that kills the site, you have to figure it out and fix it. It does take a certain level of expertise and experience.
