Follow Me on homepage

  • I am using the Adventure Theme for my blog. I want a follow my blog widget/picture/button/anything at the top of my home page but I can’t seem to make that happen.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

The adventure theme does not have a widget area at the top of the home page.

We try to make it as easy as possible for your readers to subscribe to your blog with or without a WordPress.com account. There are some follow options built into your site already. Anyone who is logged into a WordPress.com account will see this Follow button at the top of your site:

Anyone who is not logged into a WordPress.com account will see this at the bottom of their browser window when visiting your site:

In addition, we have two widgets that you can add to give your readers easy ways to follow your blog.

    1. The Follow Blog widget adds a box where viewers can subscribe to your site via email.

    2. The Follow Button widget adds a button that WordPress.com users can click to follow your site.

The email options will not require your followers to create a WordPress.com account. However, they will need to confirm that their subscription by clicking a link in a confirmation email from WordPress.com.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

  • Thank you for getting back to me. I do use the widgets I was just hoping there was a way to make them more visible right from the homepage as soon as you get to the blog, as the right sidebar menu doesn’t appear there.

  • Great. The two built in follow options will of course be visible on the homepage. You could also add one of the Follow widgets to the Left Sidebar, which does appear on the Homepage Template. If you don’t want this widget to appear in the left sidebar on other pages, you can set its visibility:
