Exporting blog to self-hosted site?

  Trying to export a client’s blog to a self-hosted site (GoDaddy). Using the Export tool from within WP dashboard, the XML downloads. When I go to upload it to folder at GoDaddy, I get an error message, saying the file contains 0 bytes. When I look at the info about the XML. it also says 0 bytes. How to make this transfer happen successfully (including subscribers, btw)???

  Please use the pop-up live chat support box on the bottom right hand corner of your Admin page to contact Staff about your export issue.

  Thanks timethief. I actually tried that several times! Every time I started typing the box disappeared. (which I resorted to the forum) I’ll try again later, maybe it was just a fluke.
