export goes to whitescreen

Add topic to favorites
Trying to help my client move their site to wordpress.org. Export of all content in two different browsers (Chrome and IE) ends with whitescreen. Can you let me know what the problem is or how to resolve?

That’s strange indeed. I can run the export for you, and send you the XML file.

Before I do, can you let me know the export parameters you wish? For instance, is it ALL content from ALL dates, or did you want something more specific?

I ran it for ALL of everything. Will the XML file include images? Hoping that it grabs everything…

It won’t export images, but the old site should be left up and public facing so you can import attachments (media files) by checking the “Download and import file attachments” option when you import the WXR to the new site.

Once the images have been imported, you can make the old WPcom site Private or delete it (with the understanding that it is not possible to recover either content or the site URL in the future).

OK. Thanks for that tip. If you could send XML, that would be helpful. Still having trouble when I try to run it.
