Excerpts Not Working Consistently?

    Because I do not want to smack anybody in the face with my drivel, I have found that I really like the use of the Excerpt function – only showing a snippet of a long post rather than the full thing.

    However, I’ve recently noticed that despite using excerpts for all of my blog posts, some of them are not working correctly.

    The (current as of the time I’m writing this support request) September 2019 summary page, https://livingundead.home.blog/2019/09/ has all posts showing correctly.

    However, the last (chronologically first) post on the August summary page, https://livingundead.home.blog/2019/08/page/1/ appears in its entirety with no excerpt.

    Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

    Hi there,

    Your theme doesn’t support automatic excerpts, so I’m not sure why it’s even displaying excepts on the monthly archive pages at all. On the main posts page at https://livingundead.home.blog/blog-feed/ it’s not showing excerpts either (by the way, that’s the page most new visitors to your site will go to in addition to the front page, rather than monthly archive pages).

    I see your excerpt settings are currently set to Default, rather than excerpt. Let’s first check what happens if you explicitly set that to excerpt instead – go to My Site ->Design ->Customize ->Content Options to change that.
