Excerpt Plugins / Akismet Issue

    I just wanted to know if there was an excerpt plug-in that acted similar to a Livejournal cut tag? Meaning, is it possible for me to manually set which text I want to be ”hidden” and which text I want to be visible?

    Also, I am having issues with Akismet working due to the plugin not being able to connect to the server. I realize this is something to do with my “host”. I contacted my server provider, but I have my own domain. So I was just wondering if it’s an issue that needs to be taken up with the comp that I bought my domain from, or is there a way for me to check if my site or whatever is granting access to Akimset on my own?

    I think you need to be asking the first question at WordPress.org, as we dont’ deal with plugins here at WordPress.com; we don’t use them at all.

    As for the second, I’m afraid I have no idea. But some techy will speak up, I’m sure.
