Enfold update is causing issues on my website.

  • I went to my website to update some pages and this is now the error I get on every single page. I also can’t run akeeba backup or look at my insights. I currently am using the Enfold and it is up to date.

  • Hi there,

On what site are you working? The account you’re using to post here does not own any sites on WordPress.com, and we don’t have any theme called “Enfold”

If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another host, please ask for help at https://wordpress.org/support/forums instead, or if you believe the issue is related to the Enfold theme, contact support for that theme directly.

  • I have 2 wordpress sites. One at Twocolorphotography.com and one at cooleycollectivestudios.com Both are wordpress and I can send you all my log in details. I have tried contacting both wordpress AND Enfold with no luck. I’m not sure where the problem is stemming from, that’s why I posted here. I have now hired my web designer to come up with a possible solution.

  • Oh and follow up…. I am having no issues with http://www.cooleycollectivestudios.com and the semplice theme. The issues are solely on http://www.twocolorphotography.com with the enfold theme. I paid a lot of money for a web designer to create the site probably 5-6 years ago – I’m not sure where he got the theme – if it’s a 3rd party theme or what…and he’s not answering my emails either.

  • The email I receive every time I go in and try to edit a page:

    “Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Enfold.

First, visit your website (http://www.twocolorphotography.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (http://www.twocolorphotography.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2053&action=edit) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    [redacted too]

  • This message recommends contacting your host. That’s Bluehost for both of these sites. You’re using copies of the free WordPress software on their hosting, so you’ll want to reach out to them about backups, or try the community forums for the WordPress software here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

For help with a specific theme or plugin, you can try contacting their support directly too.

But these are the forums for the free sites that are hosted by the WordPress.com managed hosting service — which isn’t the same thing as the free software. This might help clear up any confusion:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Hoping that helps! And I removed your login link, as that could be considered sensitive information. Cheers!
