email forwarding not working

  • I have recently purchased a domain registration from WordPress to upgrade my blog. I have set up email forwarding as directed by your support documentation.

    I have created (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    to forward to my gmail account (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    I have received emails sent from other people (I asked my friends to send me to check it) however I don’t seem to be receiving automated emails from website registration etc. For example I requested a password reset from one website and never received the email.

    Is there a setting somewhere I need to change to make sure I get all emails through?

    I want to use my new email address for registering with sites related to my blog rather than my personal or the less professional Gmail addresses so I need the forwarding to work reliably.

    I took a look at your account. It appears as if you have your WordPress.com notifications set up to go to your gmail address still.

  • Thanks for the reply but I’m wondering if either I didn’t make myself clear or you didn’t read my initial posting – because you have spectacularly missed my point…

    I am not receiving emails for the *new* email address I have created via “email forwards” for the *new* domain I have paid for.

    I am not talking about WordPress notifications – I am getting those fine, I am talking about emails sent to the newly created email address which is supposed to forward on to my usual email account – several of these have not reached me…

    I don’t seem to be receiving automated emails from website registration etc.

    That led me to believe you weren’t receiving WordPress.com emails sent to your new forwarding email address. This is why I asked you to please check that link I sent.

    I guess I must have misunderstood this from your first note:

    This indicated to me that your email address was working when you were sent emails from third-party senders. But I’m a bit confused as I see you’re now stating:

    I am not receiving emails for the *new* email address I have created via “email forwards” for the *new* domain I have paid for.

    Are emails arriving at your new address or not? If you could clarify the issue, that would be helpful.

    Please tell me what email address you created so I can test it. It appears as if you’re inquiring about a domain created for your site, calumjcraig.wordpress.com. However, you don’t have a custom domain set up for this site.

    I do see two custom addresses set up for your other domain, ascottishworldofgolf.com. Are these the email addresses with which you’re having trouble? Or, does one work, but not the other?
