Editing metadata for a post

    I’m looking to edit the metadata on my posts. Before WordPress changed, at the bottom of each editing page there was a section where you were able to edit the metadata description. Now at the bottom of each page is only a banner/sidebar display option and no ability to change a post’s description. Because of this, when I post an article on social media, it will display the title followed by a description that reads ‘Authormcjacobs@gmailUpdated Feb 4 2019…’. I was wondering if anyone knows how to edit those snippets so they display a meta description that actually fits the article. Thanks so much!
