  what if I want to build an e-commerce website with WordPress — do I need a hosting company like Godaddy?
  Also is there a limit on how big my blog can be through wordpress.com?
  At what point to I have to pay to host through wordpress.com?

  eCommerce is not permitted here. To do that, you’ll need to be hosted somewhere else.

  WordPress.com is not set up to be a full ecommerce site, but you do have the ability to add a Paypal button to your blog.
