Downloading plugins
-
I upgraded to the premium plan with the understanding I would now be able to download additional plugins. I would like to hide and reveal text within my posts and am trying to download the WP-showhide plugin. Do I need to self-host to add plugins? Is there another way to hide/reveal texts without an additional plugin? Thanks!

Hi there, does this previous forum thread given by another volunteer answer your question?

Mostly, yeah. Is there any way to hide and reveal text within a post without an additional plugin?
Thanks! -
Also, I cancelled my upgrade and am trying to self-host through one of the other providers but have not been able to reuse the domain (uwnightreport.com) I was using through my premium wordpress account. Will it just take a few days before it becomes available again or will I never be able to use that domain through another host? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you! Brandon

First, about your second post: You should never cancel a domain that you registered and are planning to use. There is no guarantee that the domain will become available to register somewhere else. https://en.support.wordpress.com/cancel-domain/
If you registered/purchased that domain with WildWestDomains (WordPressdotcom’s registrar) you can still point it to a self-hosted site once you are set up.
If you still want to use that domain, please return here and add MODLOOK to the Tags section of the forum thread sidebar for Staff assistance. Good luck and best wishes.

About hiding spoilers or additional text, whether or not this is still relevant for you, the only way I know to do this on WordPressdotcom is with Page Jumps.
This means you add some clickable text that will either bring your site visitor to a different place on the same page or to a different page entirely. Here’s more about that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/
