Domain godaddy wordpress = confused.

  • Ok, I have been reading through the questions and I feel that it cant be possible that im the only one with this issue, but I cant find it in the same format. So here it goes, knowing that im not special.
I have a domain that i share with my wife. [http://blahblah.com]. she uses a folder [http://blahblah.com/wife]
If I want to use my wordpress account to forward there to that url, can i make it where she can still use and have viewable access to her [http://blahblah.com/wife].
I thought that maybe i would be out of luck and i found that i can do a subdomain of sorts just with a frame that points back to the wordpress page. Is that the only way i can get close to this?

  • You can use subdomains to do it. Subdomains with frames can cause problems so we don’t recommend it.

You can either use blahblah.com to point to your blog and wife.blahblah.com to pojnt to your wife’s site; or me.blahblah.com to point to your blog and blahblah.com (or blahbla.com/wife) for the other.

Either way will work with the domain mapping upgrade:

    Domain Mapping

The gist of it is: create a CNAME record at GoDaddy that points ‘me.blahblah.com’ to ‘yourblog.wordpress.com’; buy the WordPress.com domain mapping upgrade for your blog, and on the Upgrade / Domains tab add ‘me.blahblah.com’ as a new domain for your blog.
