Domain Settings

We’ve been working with our old IT individual that used to help host an old site we had. We just setup our new site with WordPress and are trying to redirect the old site domain over. Below is a reply we received from the old IT individual that he will need to help finish. Any suggestions/assistance?
‘If I switch to the wordpress nameservers your email will no longer function. Instead of nameservers I can create A records pointing to two or more of wordpress IPs. To get this information, please contact wordpress using the contact form inside your Dashboard.’
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Using a custom domain on WordPressdotcom requires an upgrade (personal, premium or business).

I’ve tagged this thread for Staff assistance, but much of the information can be found on the WPcom Support site. https://support.wordpress.com/

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.
If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:
192.0.78.25
192.0.78.24
