Domain redirect issues with '404 error' via Bluehost

  • Okay. Long story short. I have been using WordPress.com for over a year, and decided to move over to WordPress.org via Bluehost.com.

When it comes to redirecting traffic, I am having big time issues. I purchased the 301 Redirect in WordPress.com (the $13.00 one) under my wordpress.com account. However, any links I’ve posted to say, my Facebook page that lead to the recipes on my site (food blogging site), are now taking me to a BlueHost ‘404 Error’. How do I rectify this? How can I set it up so that any links that have been posted on Facebook, or through sites like tastespotting that had links to my recipes, can be redirected to the new host?

I’m new at this, and have been reading through a lot of WordPress how-to’s when it comes to moving domains, but this is really frustrating. I get a lot of my traffic through these links. It doesn’t look good if they now bring my readers to an error page.

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance.
