domain privacy

  • I recently registered a private domain with wordpress.com (e.g. myname.com) including the whois privacy option, but I also have a regular wordpress blog (e.g. myname.wordpress.com). Do I need to change the privacy settings on myname.wordpress.com blog in order to insure that the contact information I used when I registered myname.com stays private?

    Thanks in advance!

    Deana

  • The contact info (your email) for myname.wordpress.com is private by default (well always private nobody short of a Law enforcement person with lots of legal papers can get that info other than the staff who need the info to contact you) –

The Private domain thing keeps your contact info behind a firewall but there is a contact mechanism in place as the internet rules require you to be able to be contacted – so you are hiding behind a third party.

  • Ok that sounds great. Thanks so much auxlass!
