Domain cannot be mapped
-
I want to map an existing domain to my blog.
I entered this page https://wordpress.com/domains/add and clicked on ‘Already own a domain? Map this domain to use it as your site’s address’ but when I enter the domain name that I own, I get the message ‘Sorry but example.gr has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.’
I have already contacted the company from which I purchased the domain name and they replied that there is no restriction whatsoever from their side.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

According to WordPress.com staff in a related forum thread, they need to manually add some domain names with country extensions. That may be the case with your domain so I’ve tagged this for staff’s attention.

Hi @imhereforthefreedrinks, we can add it for you if you’ll let us know what domain you’re trying to add. You can either let us know here or contact us in chat during business hours:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contactOr we can also email if you don’t want to post the name publicly. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ve added the mapping subscription for you. You’ll just want to be sure to “renew” it within the next 10 days so that this year is paid:

Hi, I contacted you three months ago regarding my domain sorayanaomi.com that I wanted to map to sorayanaomi.wordpress.com. I had an issue with the hosting company, and they unlocked it and it has been released for three months. WordPress support told me that wordpress can host it for me in my plan of $100 dollar a month after it has been released for three months(the current plan I have with wordpress). Now, I just saw that sorayanaomi.com is released entirely:
https://nl.godaddy.com/domains/searchresults.aspx?checkAvail=1&domainToCheck=sorayanaomi.comCan you snatch that domainname (sorayanaomi.com) for me and map it to my wordpress site sorayanaomi.wordpress.com asap?
Kindly,
Naomi -

@sorayanaomi , looks like you’ve got it. I’ll close this out since the original post is resolved, but if you need help, please go ahead and start a new thread. Cheers!
