Domain and Theme, now what?
-
Hello there,
I own a domain and recently bought a website theme from ForestTheme and am now ready to build a website, but am not sure how to get started.
I know I must upload the theme and use the mapping services for the domain that I own, but what do I do first.
I found the mapping services area, but I can’t seem to find where I upload the theme.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I’m sorry you did not know there were differences between free hosted WordPress.com blogs and WordPress.ORG installs.
The blog linked to your username is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. We do not have FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we not able to upload any third party themes.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/The only themes you can use on a free hosted WordPress.com blog are those found here > Appearance > Themes and showcased here > http://wordpress.com/themes/
There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated clearly here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you want to use any third party theme or build your own theme then don’t waste any time here at all. Purchase web hosting http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. http://wordpress.org/ Then move your .wordpress.com blog content into it http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/

re: domain management
If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/#update-nameserversHowever, if you are content with remaining at wordpress.com where you can only use these themes and no others http://wordpress.com/themes/ then you can change themes as often as you wish to.
If you want to change themes on a free hosted WordPress.com blog you must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the blog and who is the Admin of the blog. Note that no content is ever lost when changing themes.
Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes
browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate”
or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appearsAfter you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
