    I want to use alkaios.com. The generator will not let me load or create that. Why? If i get it from somewhere else how long till you guys get your side fixed to be able to transfer .com s

    Hi there,

    The domain, alkaios.com, already exists, so it cannot be registered here and won’t show as available in our domain search.

    If you own the domain and want to use that domain with a WordPress.com site, click on the Use a domain I already own option on the Add Domain screen. That will allow you to add a domain mapping upgrade instead.

    Transfers are currently disabled as registrars and registries are currently in the process of switching their systems over to be compliant with the European privacy laws that came into effect today. We hope to re-enable domain transfers later today, but it might not be available again before Monday.

    If you want to transfer the domain, I recommend that you add a domain mapping upgrade for now, and then start the transfer next week once all the changes have been completed. If you add the domain mapping using the free domain credit in your plan there will be no additional cost to start a transfer next week.
