We are trying to setup a new blog using the Eventbrite Multi theme and would like the post author to display with each post. Please advise how we can do this. We have the custom upgrade also.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not have a definitive answer for you but themes Staff will have one and I tagged this thread for their response.

Some themes are designed to display author bylines and some aren’t. I suspect the theme you mention may not be designed to display them.

Regardless of the theme, and provided the theme is designed to display a byline, bylines will only display now if there are at least two official users who are authors and who both have at least one published post in the blog.

Hi, thanks for your response. We do have multiple users/authors setup on the blog, and you can see that if you click on any of the authors from the right-hand sidebar (they have posts that show up under their name). However, we would like their name to also show up as part of the post itself and in the post summary on the front page so people know who the author is when they click on a post. We are hoping it is possible, even if it requires a CSS customization as part of our upgrade. Look forward to your reply.

You will have to wait for a Staff answer to that question.

There isn’t a way to display the author on the blog index page or on single posts, as the theme is not set to output it. I’ll pass this suggest along to our developers and they may consider implementing the change in a future version of the theme.

That’s too bad. Is there a way to ‘insert’ a person’s WordPress avatar into the blog post body so we could manually add them as authors to the post?

I don’t think there’s any shortcut to inserting a person’s Gravatar within the post, although you can always simply insert it just as you would any other image.

Another option could be to display a Gravatar widget in the sidebar. You could then use a widget visibility condition to display the widget only on posts authored by that person. Screenshot:

Just let me know if you need any help setting this up.

Hi, I understand the basic idea but not sure about how to set it up for multiple author/gravatar situation. Can you help?
