Display post shortcode appearance

    Hello, I’m not very experienced with CSS but I was hoping someone might be able to help me.

    I’m using the display post shortcode for one of my pages. I would like all the image posts to be a certain size, appear horizontal and with an overlay and the post title and date in the middle of the image. When you roll over the post image/thumbnail I’d like the overlay to go darker and for a ‘read more’ to appear…

    Can anyone help?

    It’s quite a specific request because I’m trying to get the post page to match the rest of the theme.
