  I reviewed the help page for enable/disable comments. When I am in the edit mode for my page, the discussion dialogue box does not appear as in the directions so I am unable to disable comments. Please advise. I am new at this so it is possible I am just not seeing it but I have really looked.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there,

  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion

  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.   Hi, there. First of all, you have to make the discussion module visible in Screen Options. See:

  Missing Discussion Module

  The edit screen on your blog is highly customizable. You can move modules around, minimize them, or hide them completely, so this module might not always be in the same place on every blog.

  By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion module hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options on the top right, and checking the box that says Discussion.
