  I just want to see if I can build a website before I worry about purchasing/registering/suggesting a domain. If I can’t do it on my own, I might hire it out. I don’t want “use” my prospective domain yet. I just want to attempt to design the site first. If I can, I’ll register the domain name theN.

  Great idea! Yes, you can use WordPress.com for free to test out if you’d like to build using this platform, then at a later time commit to your domain. Here’s a few links to get you started:

  After digging a bit further, I see what you mean, there doesn’t seem to be a free option any longer so I’m going to be doing a bit of digging and much loved learning to get on board with the changes to pricing with WordPress.com. Sorry for the confusion.
