Deleting User Account

How do I delete my user account ? I have been able to delete my blog, but couldn’t find a way to delete the user account itself.

That is a bit strange. I created the account, but if I don’t like the sound of it anymore, I cannot change it (am forbidden to change the username).
So, if someone else wants to use the same name, even they can’t use it. So, this account is basically locked up. Forever.

I ‘m a bit confused here. I asked for my blog to be deleted by wordpress staff because due to some glitch I couldn’t do it on my own. It was done last night(thank you). The thing is when I clicked on my blog url afterwards I got a white page with the following message:”This user has elected to delete their account and the content is no longer available.” Why do I get that massage? I didn’t elect to have my account deleted, just the blog in question. Besides, my account is not deleted. I can still log in with that username.
Somebody please enlighten me.

Oops, even more confused now. I thought I posted the previous message using another username(I got myself another account when I first realized I couldn’t delete my previous blog). How is it possible that the message was posted as liberty1235?!

Because deleting the blog does not delete the user.
I would guess that you’re using a cookie and it has you logging in automatically.

Even if you were able to delete the user account, it would still be unusable by others as WP.com does not allow the reuse of usernames here or URLs.
“This user has elected to delete their account and the content is no longer available.”
That’s probably left over from the old system. I’ll send in a Feedback and point it out to them.
