Deleting categories

Hi there,
I am trying to delete created categories. I have followed any instructions I can see online with this question, however none of them are applicable to the set-up and interface I seem to have (perhaps they are not updated for new layouts or…?).

To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title.

To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to > Dashboard > Posts > Categories

To edit or delete dynamic category pages from your custom menu go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus

This sounds like a daft question but I cannot find anywhere direct to access this admin dashboard – is there a quick button or link in the main edit/profile page? Thank you.

Staff removed the convenient link and replaced it on the very bottom of the right-hand column of the My Sites page. As I never go there it
is useless to me but I have memorized it and that’s easy to do.The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
