As there seems to be no way of avoiding having to use the appalling block editor, other than by buying an upgrade, I see no reason to keep a WordPress account. I cannot easily post to my blog any longer so I would like to delete my WP account and blog. Can you tell me how you do this?

Hi Phil, I just want to make sure that you saw the reply from Staff to your previous post at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/block-editor-21/

It is possible to use the original WP Classic Editor https://wordpress.com/support/editors/#classic-editor via the WP Admin dashboard of your site at yoursite.wordpress.com./wp-admin/post-new.php That’s the same dashboard we used on WPcom before the MySite dashboard was introduced in 2015.

Here’s more information about the change at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-com-classic-editor-deprecation-faqs/

If in spite of everything, you still wish to delete your site and account, you can follow this guide to closing your account> https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

Post back here if you have questions about any of that.
