Hello, my name is Steph and I have one old WP site I made a long time ago in college and one new site, I made and updated just recently. I wish to delete my old site and keep my new site. However, when I try to log into my old website, it only brings me to the current website. Can you help me?

    Old WP: http://www.wordstospill.wordpress.com

New site I want to keep: http://www.stephrodriguezwrites.wordpress.com

    Thank you!

@stephradriguez – Hi there, did you sign up for your original site under the same username account as your new site?

What happens if you try going to the WP Admin Dashboard at https://wordstospill.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=delete-blog

When I try to log into my old site in order to delete it, I get this message:

“You are logged in as “stephradriguez” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “In my own words”. If you are not “stephradriguez”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “stephradriguez” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.”

I tried logging into my Yahoo account, which I used to sign up with the old college website, and I am not able log into it. This is so troublesome.

That’s a clear indication that you are not logged in as Admin under the exact username account that registered the blog.

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and access the full features.

Note this other username account that matches the URL please https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/wordstospill

You need to determine exactly which email address was used when wordpress.COM username account was registered so you can log out of this account, clear our browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies, and then log in under the correct username account, and delete the site. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

If the log-in information is lost visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.
