  Is it possible to omit the date of the post? If I can’t leave it off, can I hide it by changing the color of the font to the same as the background?

  if you had the CSS upgrade, not only you’d be able to change the date color to the same bg color, but you could actually make it ‘disappear’… which it’s even better.

  forgot to add. It is NOT recommended to purchase the CSS upgrade if you don’t have CSS experience. There’s no official CSS support in these forums, and you would be on your own.
