Customizing CSS with The Chunk Theme
-
I am working with The Chunk Theme and have paid for custom design.
I would like to do two things:
First, I would love to use custom CSS coding to allow my menu headings to have a scroll over color. All of my other links do this, so I would like to the menu to be consistent, if possible.
Secondly, I understand this theme does not allow for coding of a sidebar. Is there any way I can align each page to be centered? This way my pages wouldn’t be right justified, making it look like something is missing from the page on the left.
I would greatly appreciate any coding advice, help or the codes themselves to make these changes possible!
Thanks.

Hi there, add the following to your CSS and edit the color code as desired (I’ve used a bright green as a sample).
#menu li:hover > a, #menu ul ul *:hover > a { color: #33cc33; }
For the content area, add the following which recovers the space vacated by the meta data and I also took away the left border line since is looks a little strange with the page full width.
.hentry .entry-meta { display: none; } #contents { margin-left: 0; border-left: none; } .hentry .main { width: 100%; }

Thank you so much, thesacredpath! The coding worked wonderfully!
The hover highlighting for each of my menu items worked, except for the “Home” button. Can the hover option be added to this button as well?
I’m really loving how everything on my site is becoming centered on the page. Is there any way to move the page titles to be centered as well? Right now they are appearing as left justified for each page.
Thank you for your continued help, you are the best!

Am I also able to decrease the spacing between the end of my page text and the footer area? Right now I have to scroll down a lot after my text to view my footer widgets. Thanks!

So sorry to keep posting! I just realized that the scroll over link highlighting does not appear when you scroll over the menu heading for the page you are already on. This is fine and does not need to be changed! Thanks.

Hi there, add the following to get the hover color on the “home” page (current page) item.
#menu ul li.current_page_item > a:hover { color: #4ecdc4; }

And if you’re interested in a sidebar, here’s a solution I had worked out:

Add the following to center the page titles.
.entry-title { text-align: center; }
This will reduce the space at the bottom of your pages.
.page #comments, .page .navigation { display: none; }
