Customizing
-
Theme: GeneratePress. LorraineRyanArtGallery.com. I want to alter what currently exists—it’s not customized. I would like to add a slider edge to edge, containing six artwork images (fading in and out). I would like this directly under the menu bar. Right now, when I click on the menu bar it opens vertically and says “home, contact, home contact” I would like “Home, About, Art Exhibits, Contact” displayed horizontally—permanently–without having to hit a menu button. I need to do much more, but—step at a time– I would like to have help with this first. Thanks for guidance

The theme you are using wasn’t purchased from WodPress.com but you can get direct help from te theme developer at https://generatepress.com/contact/
With the Business plan you can get Livechat support from WordPress.com staff by clicking the blue question mark bottom right on your site.
And you can see all the replies to your earlier questions here.

@themagicrobot, I think your concern about whether the user is subscribed to forum replies is justified given the number of times they’ve posted on this same topic. Since the “automatically subscribe me to this topic” checkbox is missing from the forum new topic form, I’m going to go ahead and tag this thread for Staff to ask if they can confirm the user is subscribed.

Staff, Just noting again that LorraineRyanArtGallery.com is using WordPress.com name servers. Please see this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/utter-frusration/#post-3169408

Hi justjennifer. I’ve sent a reply to the contact form on the site and also added a comment but don’t know if either will be received or seen. It would be great if staff could contact the gentleman directly by email and show some “happiness engineering”.

Hi there,
Please contact support for the GeneratePress theme directly at the link you were provided above. While your Business Plan comes with 24/7 live chat support at https://wordpress.com/help/contact, we cannot provide in depth support for themes and plugins downloaded from other providers.
The OP is subscribed to this thread, and we’ve also already answered them on this issue via live chat. But @themagicrobot’s advice above to contact the theme’s support directly is correct, regardless whether or not the site is on a Business Plan with us.

Yes @kokkieh and both @fstat and another forum volunteer have pointed the user to those forums. The issue here was whether the user has been receiving the replies given to their queries.
If they are receiving those replies then we will continue to point the user to Support for their business plan and generatepress for theme assistance. Thanks.

I’m not sure how this ongoing issue is going to get resolved. Martin has now started a new thread where he is asking (after advice from an “expert”) to downgrade to the Personal plan and yet continue with his third-party theme:
