  Does WP support the creation of accounts for people signing up at my website? What if any limitations are there if, for instance, I want to allow or encourage these people to provide significant profile information?

  Hi there,

  WordPress.com sites don’t have site-specific accounts. If you wish to give someone access to a site in your account, they need to sign up for their own free WordPress.com username account at https://wordpress.com/start/account/user/, then you can invite them in the user role they need on your site as explained here:

  If you want membership to your site be dependant on users going through a signup process where they provide certain information to you, you’d need to use a membership plugin on our Business Plan instead:
