Coraline mobile menu items not all active

  • My site is using the Coraline theme, with the mobile interface turned on.

It works fine on my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.0.1) except that only the HOME menu item is active — the other top level menus are not.

    ??

    Thanks.

  • Hi. Are you referring to http://rooseveltcs.org/ ?
I tested on a Mozilla Firefox browser with the User Agent Switcher add-on (simulating an iPhone) and have no problem using the menu (Home, Info, Courses, etc.)
Are you still experiencing this issue?

  • Yes, it is still a problem.

I experience it using Safari on an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.0.1).

  • Hi @ahdavidson,

I took a look and, with the exception of the “Home” link, I see that you’re using “Custom Links” in your menu that do not have URLs assigned. In Appearance → Menus, it looks like you’ve entered text instead of links inside your Custom Links. This is OK if you’re viewing the site on a desktop machine because you can roll the mouse over the un-linked menu item to view the drop-down. However, this functionality won’t work on a mobile device.

Can you try placing a “#” inside the URL box for your Custom Links menu items and seeing if that allows the drop down menus to appear?

On a related note (this applies after you fix the issue above), drop-down menus are appearing underneath the text on the mobile theme. We’re working on this and will let you know when we have a fix.

  • Ah, good point! I’ll look at it, thanks.

  • That worked, thanks!
