The blog I need help with is

The following is from our legal team:

We’re aware of the recent EU privacy directive and the related UK Cookie Law. As of now, the relevant authorities haven’t issued concrete guidance on the actions that are necessary to comply with the law. We’ll be watching as the situation develops and may make changes to our services in the future, if required.

For now – since sites hosted at do make use of cookies, you may like to flag this fact for visitors to your site. One way to do this is to add a text widget to your side bar and include a link to our privacy policy (which contains information on the cookies that we use). thank you for your support timethief!

You’re welcome and best wishes with your blog.

You keep reposting this same answer, but I believe you are aware that this line of action is not compliant to the relevant EU law.
May I suggest that just clarifies that proper support for the EU regulation is not available, and that this kind of notices do little but prove the goodwill of the individual blogger? We fully acknowledge the fact that has no obligation to care about EU law, or to test and make available some of the many plugins designed to address this issue, but this kind of communication is misleading.
We would all be better off knowing that we can choose whether accept to violate the law or find a different solution ourselves.

There has not been an update from our legal team but when there is I will be sure to post it.
