Convertings categories to tags, what will happen to links?

    After many years blogging, I do think my categories need reworking. I think about converting several not much used categories to tags and highly used tags to categories.

    Now I see a problem where I need answers. I did link many of my tags and categories in articles, so, what will happen to the links that go to categories or tags once they are converted to the opposite? I assume the links I placed to categories or tags won’t convert? Will I have dead links?

    If so, is there any easy way to find and change dead links on the own blog?
