Connecting with my Facebook account

Add topic to favorites
When I attempt to connect my wordpress account with my Facebook I get this error “the Facebook connection could not be made.” after it asks me to confirm the account I want to use is the one that appears on the screen.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you signed in to the Facebook account you want to connect already, when you try to make the connection?

Yes. It even shows my profile picture when asking to confirm the account I wish to connect to is the one that appears on the screen. I then click allow and I get the error message.

Then, log into Facebook. After you’ve successfully logged in, come back to WordPress.com and attempt to connect to Facebook again:

I have tried that several times, even tried using a different browser and also used my cellphone and it still did not work.

Thank you all for the updates, and for the screenshot, @beccamiller22.

Can you all also attempt to make the Publicize connection in your /wp-admin/ menu and let me know if the connection fails there as well?

Once in your site’s /wp-admin/ dashboard visiting the Settings > Sharing options. Once there click “Connect” next to Facebook and see if it functions.
