Code to disable image compression

    WordPress image compression destroys my images and makes them look blurry/lack of contrast.

    The original files look a lot better than the ones on the site.

    Is there any code to disable image compression?

    Hi @pianopl8yer, the WordPress software has to create images from your originals that will fit within the area where they are displayed. The software does this on-the-fly as needed and tries to maintain as much quality as possible, and to make the image file size small enough so that the images load quickly. It is a delicate balancing act.

    I checked a couple of your images and they are about 4000 x 3000 and the file sizes are about 9MB each. Given that there are few people that have large desktop monitors, you may want to consider resizing your images in your image editing program down to perhaps 2000 x 1500 -ish so that the WordPress software isn’t having to turn a 4000px wide image into a 1000px wide image for the carousel. Photoshop, or another of the dedicated image editing programs would be able to do a much better job of resizing the images and maintaining quality and with smaller images, what you see onscreen would be much better. You might want to test this out in perhaps a draft page and then preview it. This would also improve the quality of smaller images displayed in galleries and on your main page.

    I also notice that you have hidden the WordPress and Theme footer credits using the following CSS.

    .site-info {
        display: none;

    We are not allowed to hide or edit the and theme footer credits per our Terms of Service (#1 Attribution). See the Frequently Asked Questions on the Custom Design support page for more information.

    You are allowed to restyle the footer credits to better fit with your design as long as they remain readable. If you need help restyling the existing footer credits, let us know and we would be happy to help.

    Please remove the above CSS from your custom CSS to restore the footer credits.
