Classic Editor
-
I am a computer hobbyist, who has several free WordPress sites, and would like to add the Classic Editor plugin. Unfortunately, it looks like this is only available to those who pay for a business plan. Would you please advise and let me know if this is the case?

Hi there, on your free websites here on WordPress.com you already have access to the Classic Editor for now.
Please have a look at this support guide and let us know if you have any other question. https://wordpress.com/support/classic-editor-guide/#how-to-access-the-classic-editor

Thank you JustJennifer — this worked.
I was used to selecting WP Admin on the left side panel, and noticed it disappeared. Thankfully, I can still use the Classic Editor with Pages and Posts with this method! :) -
You’re welcome. But do please note that Staff have advised time and again that eventually the Classic Editor will go away. So please take the opportunity and try out the block editor in a test post or page to get a feel for it. It’s easier to use than you might think.
WordPress.com published a guide on working with the Block Editor specifically for Writers and Bloggers that don’t want or need all the bells and whistles that the Block editor offers at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor-for-writers-bloggers/
And if you’d like to write in a more familiar environment, the Classic Block was made for you https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
Hope that also helps.
