chat with support —-is anyone even there?

  • i need a staff member to chat with….not getting anywhere with your forum thingy….
    does anyone even work here or is this all automated
    cant even get a chat button…..

  • If you are talking about mccaffreyshomesolutions.com then it seems that domain expired in October. It is currently in the redemption period where it may be possible to recover it by asking WordPress.com staff (you do that by replying here and adding modlook to the tag box on the right) and agreeing to pay additional fees to the registrar or alternatively you will need to be patient and wait until the domain may (or may not) be released and become free to be registered elsewhere in January 2018. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

  • Thank you for your reply themagicrobot! yes it expired- i didnt realize i needed to keep paying for it after a website developer finished my website for me. a miscommunication with us. I want to move to go daddy…..what fees are we talking about?

  • Have you read the support document I linked to? Your options are either to agree to the additional charges for staff to attempt recovery of your domain here and then you can transfer it to your new host or you wait and see if it is released after 90 days from expiry for you to purchase the domain again elsewhere.

  • Hi @ericfu8006, your domain expired some time ago. It’s in redemption right now:

    Basically at this point we have a few options:

    – Pay the registrar an $80 redemption fee in addition to the renewal fee. We can most likely get the domain back for you (if not, we refund you.) At that point you can point it to a new host, transfer to a new registrar, etc.

    – Wait for the expiration process to finish. It takes a while and you risk losing the domain permanently if someone else buys it at auction, or picks it up before you do when it’s released.

    What would you like to do? If you want to go the redemption route, let us know and we’ll send an invoice.

  • thank you for your answer supernovia. After getting answers from both you and themagicrobot and reading all the appropriate data, I decided to just pay the renewal and the redemption fee and just stay put. Not worth all the extra effort to change to a new host on someone’s suggestion before we know what was going on. So thanks for guiding me through and I’ll pay the “I’m stupid” tax for not TCB on time.
