changing widget color

    Is it possible to change the background color of widgets? I would like to change the color scheme of the widgets I’m using to better match my background. It doesn’t appear there is an easy way to do this. I may need to have some html knowledge, which I really don’t. Any information or pointing to a tutorial would be helpful.
