Changing Text from Dark Gray to Black

    I’m having trouble changing the text on a page from dark gray to black. It sometimes works if I do small sections individually, but for some reason most of the page stays gray, even when I highlight it and then change it to black.

    Any ideas on how to get it to change for good and stay that way?

    Hi there,

    What particular page are you having issues with changing the text to black? I checked http://guardianscampaign.wordpress.com/ and all the posts I checked had black text, and the newest post on the blog is four years old.

    Is this in reference to a different site?

    That’s the site.

    Try clicking on one of the tabs above. For example, the one that says “World Watch”. As you scroll down, you’ll see that #1 and #2 have black text, but by the time you get to #3 (and everything below that), the text is all gray.

    Hmm, your theme is retired, and I think it might have problems with the transition to the block editor.
    You can edit each page with color issues and change the paragraph text color to black es explained here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#color-settings.

    You could also try other themes without activating them by clicking on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choosing the option Try&Customize.

    This will allow you to see how the theme would look like with your content and how you could customize it.
    Just bear in mind that if you decide to change your theme to a newer one, you won’t be able to go back to the retired one anymore.

    I would, yes. As WordPress is updated, you’ll find that over time your theme will increasingly become incompatible with the newer versions of the software.

    NOTE: If you switch your theme (instead of trying it as noted above), you won’t be able to switch back to the Mystique theme.

    Is there a way to switch to another free Theme?

    Anybody have any recommendations on what kind of Theme might work best? I see some are for single pages, and mine has multiple.

    Hi there,

    I see the theme you are using now has a custom header image, so with that in mind this may be a good place to look, since it lists only themes that have the custom header option: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/custom-header/

    Even if a theme demo appears to be for a single page site, it’s usually the case that it can be easily set up to have multiple pages instead. Let us know if you’re interested in a particular theme we can take a closer look.
