Changing a URL

Hello! I know others have asked this question, but not all my concerns have been addressed, so I wanted to reach out.
I want to change my URL on my blog to a different, available URL. I know that if I do this without the Site Redirect Upgrade, old links will no longer work and that my old URL will not send people to my new one.
What I do not know is if my blog will still have all the posts that were originally published under my old URL. Also, will I lose followers if I update the URL with OR without the Redirect Upgrade?
Last thing: Is the Redirect Upgrade fee yearly, monthly, or one-time? If I stop paying it, does it stop redirecting?

It’s a one time upgrade for a single year.

Hi there,
Do you want to redirect traffic from your WordPress.com site to a completely different website, or do you want your WordPress.com site to show at a different domain?
A Site Redirect does the first.
A domain mapping/custom domain does the second.
These are two completely different and almost opposite outcomes, so please confirm which it is you actually want to do.

Okay. In that case you need the Site Redirect upgrade.
Have you created the new site and are you exporting your posts and pages to it, or are you changing the address of your current site? If you change the address via the address change tool, your followers and stats will be moved over automatically, so then you can just add the redirect so old shared links will keep working.
Otherwise, let me know the address of the new site once you have everything moved over, and I can manually migrate your followers and stats for you.
