Change tagline color – Sela theme

How do I change the tagline color while using the Sela theme? Is this possible to do without purchasing premium? I’ve already tried going to ‘Editor’ but it doesn’t show up under my ‘Appearance’ tab.

No, you do require the annually renewable premium upgrade to edit CSS.

We bloggers do not have access to the template files underlying our themes on wordpress.COM hosted blogs and cannot edit them. This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme use the same underlying template found on the live demo site for each theme.

Does Customize let me edit HTML?
No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. Hi @annisemontplaisir,

The instructions that you referenced (to navigate to Appearance > Editor) are for sites that are hosted outside of WordPress.com and running on the free software available at WordPress.org.

The difference between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) is an understandable and common point of confusion. We have a good overview on the key differences in our guide here.

As Timethief noted, the option to add CSS to your WordPress.com site (as well as other Custom Design options) is included in WordPress.com Premium or Business.

If you choose to upgrade then we’ll be happy to help with the specific CSS that you need on our dedicated CSS forum. Let us know if any extra questions come up!
