Change site primary address, but keep website the same
-
Hello,
I’d like to change the site address of my website, but I’m concerned this might delete content or the website. I went to Settings➡General; the site address at the top of the page is greyed out so I can’t change it there. However, I scrolled down to the bottom of the page (under Site Tools) and clicked on change your site address. Site domains page came up and I clicked on Manage➡change site address. It says I can enter a new site address, but newawakeningsblog.wordpress.com will no longer be available.
Does this mean if I change the current url of my website that it will cease to exist. I don’t want that — I just want to change the url and keep the website the same with everything intact. I’m concerned I might accidentally delete my website by changing the url or site address.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you change your site’s address following https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/ your site will still exist, just under the new address.
If you add a custom domain to your site https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#add-a-domain-name it will similarly still exist but under the new domain.
