Categories x Tags. Need to know more.

Dear Ones,
I need to read more about the difference between archiving posts in categories or tagging them.
I have very well defined categories and prefer archiving them there.
But I notice I have millions of tags, and similar tags. I do not know if I should delete tags, or forget the categories and put more attention on all these big amount of tags…I do not know…
Besides, I noticed that my posts show down below the tags added to it, but do not show in which categories they are respectively archived.
So, I need 2 things: I need a clarification about tags x categories and I would like to add some css stuff to have the indication below each post in which categories they are archived.

Some themes display categories, while others don’t – it’s an aesthetic choice made by the theme designer. Circa does not display categories for each post, as you can see in the demo: https://circademo.wordpress.com/

There is no CSS that can display categories on Circa’s posts, since the category code is not output in the theme files.

You can add a category widget or category cloud widget if you like:
